This is an important text for any student of Carmelite spirituality. This book contains the records of Saint Theresa during the years in which she was establishing new convents throughout Spain (she established or reformed nearly 200 convents in just 9 years), and details what she did, how she did it, and the many lessons she learned along the way. It is really quite an adventure to read; to learn about each unique challenges that each new convent posed, and the many protagonists and antagonists she encountered in her journeys. Early on, it becomes immediately evident that hardship and trial is part-in-parcel of such a lofty mission, as it almost always accompanied the foundation of each new convent. In this sense, it is really quite a unique lesson is abandonment to divine providence.The book also details a vast array of personalities who helped the saint along the way, as well as some insight into the character of her nuns. She writes liberally about the good qualities of the good people, and complains little of the bad. Rarely does she ever speak about herself, but instead, we get in depth character analyses of her many benefactors, seeing how prominent a role they played. In this sense, the book is also a lesson on just how much God uses other people to bring about His plans.I particularly enjoyed reading what she writes about her nuns, and how saintly and obedient they were (such as when she tested the obedience of a nun by asking her to plant a shriveled up cucumber in the ground. The nun obeyed with the simplicity of a child, asking whether she wanted it planted sideways or vertically, not even considering that it will never grow.). It is also interesting to read what she writes about Saint John of the Cross, and the friendly competitions they had between convents. Clearly these women were serious about the faith, and were all saints in their own rights, as Teresa notes.The literary value of this book is also quite rare, in that it is not quite a log book, and not quite a diary. She clearly had a sharp intellect, and was a master of prose, with an uncanny ability to say much with few words. Perhaps what most distinguishes the saint is her iron will; to have accomplished so much, in such a short period of time, and with constant illness and suffering.

Totally wonderful! I have read the books in this volume by other translators but Father Kieran Kavanaugh is my favorite translator and with the film on the computer he presents giving slight direction into the understanding of his translation, the writings of this great saint are greatly moving and touching. Father Kavanaugh's volumes and I have all three as well as the Complete Works of St John of the Cross that Father Kavanaugh has translated are very distinguished.

Keirnan Kavanaugh is so very thorough on his translations and his writings of Teresa's work --- she is delightful and full of wisdom and was much before her time.

This book is a must for every Carmelite either Frier,Nun or Secular Member ! Very informative and humorous. The information is very important for those living the Teresian Spirituality. Her book is so simply written it is easy to apply to daily living as a Carmelite. It is a must for all seeking this way of life or wishing to learn about this Great Saint and Doctor of the Church. Though written in the 12th Century it applies to our daily lives today. I have both hard copy and e-Book and prefer E-Books since they can be easily taken anywhere you go. It is a must for those in Formation for the Secular Carmelite Life . It is used in Formation for Seculars! Both book forms, hard copy and e-Book can be purchased at Amazon.

I've deployed IWAN into production for numerous customers both before and after reading this book. This book provides information on the IWAN solution that is easy to understand and easy to implement into your networks. It takes a lot of the important design pieces from the CVD and presents them in an easy to consume manner and also explains the "why" behind the design.Not only does it dive into things like PFR and DMVPN which are the key pieces of IWAN, it also does a great job of offering a fairly detailed explanation of the additional IWAN features like DIA with CWS, WAAS, and other pieces.I would recommend this book to anyone looking to deploy or learn more about the IWAN solution.

A very excellent read. I knew the book would be a good one especially after hearing from the author on Cisco Live. The authors did a good job in explaining PFR, iWAN, DMVPN, DIA but the only big thing which is missing is the integration of iWAN with Prime which has pre existing templates for iWAN for 0 touch provisioning and minimum configurations on the hub and spoke sites. The book must include that to get a 5 start because i am seeing that new deployments of Cisco iWAN is focused on installing Prime template and then tweaking it. More information on Cisco WAAS configuration and management needs to be added as well. But besides that the book is very well written and must to have if you are looking to deploy iWAN for the first time.

A very good book on for network engineer/architect to understanding the architecture behind the IWAN technology. Very detailed explanation with sample configuration.

The much anticipated Cisco Press IWAN book is here. This is another gem from author Brad Edgeworth First there was the well written Cisco Press IP Routing on Cisco IOS XE and IOS XR and now this one. If you are planning to deploy DMVPN, PfR and WAAS this is a must have.Would highly recommend to network engineers and architects who are responsible for deploying and supporting IWAN solutions. Also useful is the VIRL lab files for following along which is available for download. Thank you Brad and team/Cisco Press.

Nice representation of SD-WAN with good examples to deploy in Greenfield and Brownfield deployments. Would be nice to see a chapter on UX being focus of deployments so it makes it easier for deployments. Very good work Jean-Marc, David Prall. Would be nice to see Data Center Deployments.
