While anyone can look up the gifts online, this book sets itself apart with incredible information. Not only is it theologically accurate but they took time to do actual studies on todays people in different ages groups nonetheless. Biblically based. Not really a personality typing kind of book, but rather strengths we all have and the degrees with which they work in our lives.. It helps one to understand not only themselves but others and especially helpful in giving much needed grace on both ends. Highly recommend.

This book will change your life whether you follow God or not.Includes tests to find what talents, strengths you were born with, notsubsequently taught. More of a workbook than a treatise.Is your current job matching your gift? Do I have a gift for helping peopleand am trying to be an administrator? Why do I or do I not look forward togoing to work each day?With any book written to guide you, there are spots you will think you could have written better,but the Fortunes' actually wrote it. Simplifies a huge topic.

This is an interesting treatise. It may be somewhat helpful for learning about some of the things that may be characteristics of others. Unfortunately, i think it would be more helpful if the descriptions were not associated with each of the giftings so that one could take the tests without being influenced by the type of gifting being tested. In other words, if the questions were random, the reader would possibly be less influenced by "desiring to be" and may be able to answer more objectively.

While this is a very well-written book, the method used is seriously flawed. Any type of questionnaire/survey method for discovering spiritual gifts has the same flaw. What is that flaw? If a person who is not a Christian took the survey it would still indicate they a spiritual gift or gifts. This is impossible since the relevant passages of Scripture indicate that only believers have them. Some would argue that no lost person would take the survey. And while that is possible it is irrelevant. If the method gives a false positive for those who are not believers it can give the same type of false positive to believers. The survey basically takes into account preferences, personal strengths and talents and translates those to spiritual gifts. But they are not the same thing. From a Biblical standpoint, discovery of spiritual gifts is a process of ministry accompanied by mentoring and oversight of spiritually mature leaders. It is not a matter of filling out a survey and "There you have it."

This is really an excellent book especially if you have recently taken a spiritual assessment and you would like to go more in depth about the characteristics and possible roles associated with your spiritual gift (s). It allows the reader to not only see what work they can pursue in ministry but what they typically gravitate to career wise and for me it was spot on.I shared this book with others members of my small group class at my church.

This book should be in every Christian home because it is essential to know your gifting and how that gift operates in your day to day life and relationships. The test was laborious but well worth it and accurate. Being able to identify the pros and cons with each gift and how the gifts coincide with other gifts gave me a better understanding of my husband and children. More importantly it gave me a better understanding of me.

This book is a must for individual or small group study, every parent & every employer or Volunteer coordinator should be on their required reading list! I have walked through it with two small groups at my church now! Truth rooted in the word with a deeper understanding of your purpose on this earth, why you do what you do, and what jobs & Volunteer work you'll be more effective &fulfilled in...God, will always give you what you need when u are lacking in strengths, but it is eye-opening to understand what part of the body of Christ you were meant to be from day 1! Love this read-always points back to scripture, really easy read!

Nia Jax a WWE female Superstar in the WWE is DJ’s cousin. There are many more Superstars in his background.Dwayne Johnson played for the Miami Hurricanes; “he was known as their do-everything guy.” After football he turned to turned to the WWE. He was 23 years old when he joined the USWA. DJ is known for signature moves such as: Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow. The World of the Rock shares DJ’s trash talk, his allies, his rivalries, Wrestlemania, Pay-Per-View and comments from other Superstars. The WWE isn’t the end of the Rock, he has starred in several movies: The Scorpion King, Walking Tall, The Tooth Fairy, Jumanji, Fast and Furious 5, The Mysterious Island, Race to Witch Mountain, Baywatch, GI Joe, Rampage and numerous others.Dwayne Johnson’s climb to fame has not been easy, its taken hard work to get to where he is today. Like Madonna, The Rock has constantly reinvented himself in order to remain in the spotlight and become an international success. "The World of The Rock" chronicles his wrestling bouts with numerous wrestling superstars such as some of my favorites: John Cena, Triple H, and Big Show. It seems he nearly always won his matches. Due to his large size, masculinity, charisma, and fearless attitude, his career has expanded from the wrestling ring and into the film studios. He has proven to be quite the box office draw. The Rock rivals Arnold and Stallone. His legions of fans are everywhere. I took "The World of The Rock" to my work office and the ladies couldn't stop looking at his photos. (Oh, how I wish I lived in the world of The Rock.) However, The Rock is more than just a handsome face. He is extremely intelligent and talented. I learned a lot about him when I read "The World of The Rock." For example, I learned he was born Dwayne Johnson. However, in 1996, his wrestling name was Rocky Maivia, a combination of names belonging to his father, Rocky Johnson, and his grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. Both of them were wrestling legends. In 1998, Rocky Maivia became known as The Rock. Soon after, his fame began to soar towards the heavens. No one could defeat him in the ring. He fought and beat opponents that were much larger than himself. Therefore, I always suspected he possessed more than just brute strength. I've always admired wrestlers for their speed, strength, coordination, and agility; they are able to perform spectacular stunts in the ring without hurting themselves. (Well, sometimes there are accidents.) Yes, The Rock is big and strong (and he's a good actor), but I especially admire him for his perseverance, faith, and determination. Those are qualities that I am endeavoring to possess more of in myself. I am not a wrestler. However, I am working to have more faith in my spiritual life. One day I hope to have the type of steadfast faith that is unmovable and unshakeable. In other words, I want to have faith like a rock.

I gotta' hand it to DK: they definitely know how to convey WWE content in an engaging fashion. Literally every one of their coffee table style books looks beautiful, is fun to navigate, and provides content in a format suitable for small chunks. In short: a great gift for the WWE fan and/or coffee table option.The World of the Rock is no exception. It's organization is especially strong, as it doesn't stick to chronology alone (which would bore most to tears) rather themes throughout his career. The family tree section is a highlight, and author Steve Pantaleo does a wonderful job in presenting it.What I like most about this book is its flexibility. Rock fans will love it, as will those who only know him from movies, perhaps. It is devoid of excessive homage or 'down the well' references that would weaken the product, and photos chosen are done for storytelling versus branding purposes.My only criticism is the style of writing. It's a bit dumbed down to enable accessibility...which, great for quick reads...means there's little substantive even while covering great topics. Just a warning if you're expecting a true read, which this certainly isn't.All in all, however, great book for the price. For the fan who loved The Rock and walked away from wrestling...an awesome holiday gift. For the new fan wondering what all the hype is about the guy? Equally as good.

You then have the choice to download songs individually or as a zip file containing the full set. Songs are in mp3 format. Simple to upload into iTunes.

The Teen's Musical Theatre Collection: Young Women's Edition was recommended by our granddaughter's voice instructor and she could not have picked a better starting book for a 12 year old girl. There is a CD that accompanies the book so practice is easier and if the occasion arises to perform, the CD can be used to accompany the singer. The pitch range of the book is varied enough to supply altos and sopranos with a nice choice of songs. The only problem I had with the book was some of the selections are from musicals that are really old and have not been redone recently enough for a teen to be familiar with the songs, but it does supply a good musical history because of that. Many of the songs are from musicals that teens have grown up with so the interest of the teen in those songs is high. Great buy that will provide years of entertainment and instruction!

These book contains a wonderful variety of broadway pieces. The arrangements are fun and beautiful and much more appropriate for younger voices. The keys are much more suitable for developing voices!

My 13-year-old is taking group voice lessons. Last year, we just had to go with the book the teacher chose. She just didn't connect with any of the songs in it. This year, we shopped for our own and bought on Amazon because the price was so much more reasonable than from the publisher's website. This book had many songs that she really enjoys! We love the accompanyment CD and often keep it in the car so she can gain additional practice, especially while we're traveling to/from her lessons. For recital, she sang both "God Help the Outcasts," which brought serious tears to her daddy's eyes and "Think of Me." The arrangements are slightly different from the movie versions, but still very nice. If you're not sure which book to get, I recommend checking at the Hal Leonard website for additonal details but then come back here to order for the great price and service! Just make sure that you compare the identical book and read carefully for such items as the accompanyment CD, as they have many similarly-named choices.My daughter now wants me to get the book of solos from the musical "Wicked!" This is such a great compilation of songs and the quality of accompaniment on the CD is great as well. My only complaint, and perhaps it's because we are oversensitive about these things these days, there are several songs that make reference to a girl being submissive or not attractive. I think those were poor choices fro a TEEN music collection.

If you are in love with musical theater, then this book is for you! It has all the greats...Phantom of the Opera, the Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, among many others. They are not too difficult if you have some experience reading music. It also comes with a disc that makes practicing easy if you do not have access to a piano. Definitely a good buy to add to my collection!

This is definitely the best musical theatre repertoire book for young girls age 8-18. I've looked at several different books and this is by far the one with the most recognizable songs, while also meeting my standards of quality music and accessible range. There are about 12 songs in this book that I've been happy to teach my students and have them perform at recitals.

Very nice book to familiarize yourself with musical theatre pieces. Haven't used it too extensively yet, but already it seems easy to follow. Recommended.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! This book is the best! It was heads above any of the other guide books for Kaua'i I had purchased for our trip. The majority of the reviews and descriptions are right on and we appreciated the detailed maps. In addition to general touring we used the Activities and Adventure sections extensively. There are some great suggestions for outdoor enthusiasts. We also used the guide to select a SCUBA dive company to certify us while we were on Kaua'i. The recommendation for the company OceanQuest was completely accurate. George and Jeanette have wonderful senses of humor and are fabulous with beginnners. I heard that the 3rd edition is coming out soon. I can't wait to buy it.

We were on a vacation with a number of people from the company that I work at, and we were so far ahead with this book that everyone thought we had been to Kauai before. It is wonderful, especially the info on helicopter rides, the beaches and Shave Ice!!!
