Also, the epilogue clearly brings understanding to the important truths taught throughout the book and would be ideal topics of discussion for children to share their hearts and ask questions.I would recommend this as a book read often to children through their growing up years, as well as a book for adults who have never had foundational teaching from God’s Word. It’s a blessing to have received this as a gift and something I will always have in my library of favorite books.

Same as the hardcover, saved me lots of money.

Falling apart. So disappointed.

Good undergraduate book civil engineering estimation class. Used for a graduate course and felt it was not as challenging as it should have been for graduate level (I personally feel that graduate work should be very rigorous). The drawings in the back were too small (8 1/2 X 11) to be useful and should have been provided on a CD or on line so they could be printed full or quarter sized (tabloid, 11X17). I received the drawings, however some of the students and the instructor did not receive the drawings with the book.

This is actually an interesting book. I had to purchase it for one of my construction classes. Its cheaper on Amazon and more readily available. It gives an overview of cost estimating and the process you go through for hard bids. Most of the book seems to be geared more towards the hard bid process.

Book arrived on time and had no damage.We used the book for the entire session and I feel I wll keep it close as a reference when I need help.Thanks.

I never mind a little religion in a book but this was too much. This book was not the usual Bittner story. I hope she's not changing the style of her previous books. I want the old Bittner back. This was the type of book you can read in a Sunday school class. The love story with good but bland, with maybe two kisses all totaled. This book was a disappointment from one of my favorite authors. Bring the old Bittner back.

This was also a good read. It was very warm and pleasant. Not too long. The plot was good. I really enjoyed the reading.

You can always count on a great story by Rosanne Bittner! This story finds you on the Nebraska Plains in the 1870s. Jude Kingman is part of the wealthy family who owns the railroad. He has been sent there to tell the settlers that they either need to pay what they are asking for their land or they have to get off. Jude is not as ruthless as the rest of his family. He knows he has to do this but he is trying to make it as painless as possible and even gave the settlers until after harvest. While down there, he meets Ingrid Svensson. She is about the only one who is not hostile toward him. She knows it's just his job and they become friends. Gradually feelings on both sides begin to change but they decide that He being so wealthy and she begin poor it would never work. Yet each are lost without each other. They can't put the other out of their mind. Will they ever be able to work out that difference? Ingrid was considering marrying another man to help save at least one of their farms. Will she go through with that? This is a really good story and kept me turning pages. It's a keeper for my shelf.

I own several cookbooks about burgers, grilling and this type of cuisine so I didn't think much of this book when I received it as a gift. I was pleasantly surprised. The authors provide tasteful new ideas that are mostly easy to make. They cover everything from meat bleads, techniques, equipment, to how to make your own bread and condiments. I've made several items with positive results. Only a few recipes call for equipment or ingredients that most people don't have or can find easily. One sauce requires a Thai lime leaf that I never heard of but was able to get on Amazon for a few dollars and was worth it because the sauce was excellent. Overall I think this book is very well written and easy to follow. Used it several times and plan to make more items from it.

When American Burger Revival finally arrived, it instantly became the most entertaining, engaging cookbook on our shelf. Check that -- it's actually become a coffee table staple in our house! You can tell that these guys aren't just trying to capitalize on a culinary trend, nor are they backyard home-cook hacks. Their profound love of burgers comes through on every page, and though these are serious, chef-grade recipes -- that can also require chef-grade equipment -- their approach to writing a cookbook is super approachable and just so damn fun! American Burger Revival is the perfect mix of practical education, mouth-watering inspiration and flat-out fun. Though the "centerfold" burgers can be a bit overwhelming to tackle on your own, they're really there to get your creative juices going and get you thinking outside the box about what you can do with a burger. You'll have a blast cooking your way through this book, your guests will get a kick out of perusing the pages -- and at the end don't be surprised if you find that you're a more versatile, inspired home cook to boot!

Love this book, full of exciting ideas for making your burgers special but always straightforward and readable. A real pleasure. The photography is stunning, and really conveys the awesomeness of these two chef-writers.The sauce and pickle recipes are some of my favorites--I'm building a collection of sauces to splash on impromptu burgers, including Worcestershire and the Red Rooster sauce. So good!I should add that I live in Boston where Chefs Chudy and Monsour are both well known, and took a burger class with Richard and his wife Katie.

This has become one of my top cookbooks. The recipes are original and fantastic. There are also bakery item recipes for very creative bun ideas if you are into that as well as steak sauces, hot sauces, and other condiments.

Chefs Chudy and Monsour take the humble hamburger to places it's never been with this cookbook. First of all, they start with burger basics, going through many different blend options and what to get if you're going with store-bought ground beef. They don't just say "don't buy pre-made patties," they explain what about them makes them bad options compared to getting the ground beef and forming your own patties. Plus, when you do that you get to use one of their wet seasoning blends, which are pretty fantastic. We started off with the Southeast Peppercorn Ranch seasoning blend, which gives the beef a tangy kick of acid that I really loved. All along the way the book delivers a mix of grill-honed expertise, humor, and practical wisdom. It also gives you an excuse, should you need one, to ensure you have a cold, adult beverage in hand while cooking. For example, the "White Trash Chevre" recipe mandates beer drinking as step one. The absolute first thing you should make is the Vidalia Jam, which is super-simple to make, but super-tasty as well, and pretty much goes with everything. In fact, to test that, we paired it with the aforementioned White Trash Chevre, with a side of Magic Rings (onion rings) and I couldn't have been happier with the result. The moral of this story is: Buying American Burger Revival will lead to you making delicious burgers, burger toppings, and sides for burgers.

I own the 4th edition, copyright 2011, and bought this updated one when I saw it on Amazon.This edition is 195 pages; the 4th edition is 238 pages. There is no description of the changes in the book (to save space no doubt) but it appears the smaller page count has two causes. On is that certain obscure CSS3 properties are no longer listed. For example, the 4th edition has an 'Aural Media' section that includes elements such as 'voice-family' and 'cue'. Those are gone from this edition, presumably because the W3C has deprecated those functions. The second reason is because there is less white space in general in this edition, and that's actually a good thing. I found the 4th edition harder to parse because the listing of property values was spaced out on different lines and a simple horizontal rule separated the property descriptions. In this edition the properties are more clearly delineated with a double bold border around each property, and the property descriptions are laid out in left-right columns that are easier to scan. The selectors and queries section received the same reformatting. The introductory Basic Concepts and Values chapters are still present with little change other than for being updated for 2018. Another nice thing about the 5th edition is that the header for every property contains two flags indicating whether the property is inheritable and can be animated.In general, CSS3 was relatively new in 2011 and that edition contained a lot of 'not yet supported' and ' tentative' comments in the descriptions. In 2018 CSS3 is a lot less rough around the edges, and this edition has been pruned and parsed as necessary to bring it more in line with the CSS3 state-of-the-art in 2018. That, along with it's much better formatting, makes it a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

This book is great for quick references. I've been coding CSS for years, but I still need a quick reference here and there. This pocket reference is perfect for those scenarios. It contains enough information to get a beginner up and running quickly with a little additional research. The basic concepts are in the beginning. The book is full of selectors and properties with explanations on their use (in alphabetic order). The explanations are very helpful and the examples are clear.I highly recommend this book. Its quick and useful to have on hand... and won't break the bank.

I am a hobby CSS programmer with a background in BASIC, HTML and UNIX shell scripting. I do not have the patience to read a programming manual so reference manuals work very well for me. The CSS Pocket Reference has what I wanted in a concise format. However, it also has some errors. Page 10, paragraph 3 misspelled "however" as "howerver". The reference information in Chapter 4, page 171 for "table-layout" gives 2 incorrect examples that say "table-display". So far as I can tell there is no such CSS property as "table-display". On page 74, I was pleasantly surprised to see the author properly identify the octothorpe instead of calling it a hash symbol or number symbol or pound symbol. There is a lot of information in this book that I still do not understand and likely will never use but it has helped me improve my CSS coding.

I am completely comfortable with CSS, but there are plenty of selectors and properties that I don't use all the time, so I forget the possible values for the properties, or I forget if the property has "text" or "font" in the name, or something like that. This pocket reference appears to be complete, and it's easy to use and keep at hand and get around in because it's physically so small and doesn't include a lot of discursive explanation. It does include enough explanation to know what each CSS property does. Since I got it, I pretty much never look in my many larger CSS books.
