Journalist Sarah Kessler offers us a deep and nuanced view of independent work (aka The Gig Economy, freelancing, etc.) in her new book, Gigged: The End of the Job and the Future of Work. She follows the companies, workers, and social systems engaged in the growth of gig work. Upwork, Uber, Mechanical Turk, Gigster, Managed by Q, Postmates, Handy, and many others provide the backdrop for her analysis. She takes us through the growth of gig work through to late 2017.Human and NuancedWhere she considers the reality of expert Turkers (a term for the crowdsourced workers on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk platform), she offers the story of Kristy Milland (see a short form version in Wired) as she sets a goal of earning $100 a day, but at a physical cost given repetitive stress injuries. Milland eventually becomes an advocate for workers, considers starting a gig-work cooperative, and by the end of her story has been admitted to two law schools. The example allows us to see the realities of the system, and the thought process of smart and savvy Milland as she tries to build a new way of working. The story of the founding, pivoting, and growth of Managed by Q was all new to me. “The first platform for office management” started as an idea as a platform for office management tasks (cleaning, facilities, etc.) using subcontractors, but moved to a regular employee model. This was prompted when Starbucks executive, Dervala Hanley, introduced co-founder, Dan Teran, to the book, The Good Jobs Strategy, by Zeynep Ton. Unions, employee safety nets, and government perspectives all flow through the case. (Managed by Q now has a hybrid model as they scale - back to using subcontractors in some areas. By Kessler's last visit with Teran, 1000 employees are noted and 220 of their hourly employees had just received stock grants.)These are just two of the detailed examples she follows. Kessler thanks her sources in the Acknowledgements section and I add my thanks here. The time and honesty they offered let us all be better prepared for the future. What’s Next? The variety and depth of Kessler’s examples offer a window into the issues we all should have in mind as we plan our own engagement with independent work and workers. Definitions of employment are up in the air as are questions of how best to educate people for our futures of work. Reading Gigged allows you to see many of these issues in context.Kessler offers her own conclusion via the Epilogue:“At the end of it, I don’t think Silicon Valley was wrong to attempt to restructure the job. Our current model wasn’t working, and the startup spirit of experimentation was necessary. But attempting to tackle the problems of the job— and yes, delivering flexibility— without fixing the support structures around it can’t quite count as progress, and it certainly doesn’t look like innovation….The gig economy, it turns out, is not the on-demand improvement to the “future of work” that its creators once imagined. But it will play an important role in exemplifying what that future might look like, and the slow, hard work that we must do to prepare for it.”Other recommendationsThriving in the Gig EconomyGurus, Hired Guns, and Warm Bodies: Itinerant Experts in a Knowledge EconomyLead the Work: Navigating a World Beyond Employment

A few years ago, I thought about writing a book on the gig economy. On many levels, I knew that it was going to be a big deal and recent events have only underscored its importance.I'm glad that I didn't.I couldn't have done a better job than Sarah Kessler did. A gifted storyteller, she adroitly stitches together facts, key court verdicts, and human stories. This is no screed against the future of work. At the same time, though, Kessler asks tough questions about what we want out of society and what society owes us.Well done, Sarah.

Just finished Gigged, by the brilliant writer Sarah Kessler. Over 6 years she reported on the rise of the gig economy, the countless enumerations on Uber’s model (Uber but for cat food!), and the folks who get swept into the promise of flexible work at good pay. Spoiler: most of them are disappointed by the gig economy, which wasn’t designed to empower the kinds of people who really *need* to work to survive. Sarah interweaves several intimate stories: one woman writes scripts to get alerts in the middle of the night so she can snatch jobs faster, then spends hours labeling products on Amazon; another man works hard from his trailer in rural Arkansas fielding customer service calls about broken air conditioners, then come autumn is out of a job, all the while competing with overseas operators who will work for far less money. It’s bleak, people. But some iteration of the gig economy represents the future of work — at least until the robots catch up.

The examples are very good - that said, if you live long enough everything comes around many times - I shock my 3rd Year UG Business class when I tell them their fashionable clothes were how in 1976 and 1992 and show pictures to make the point that perpective allows you to see what is new again rather than really new. My grandfather was a mining engineer so in the Great War as part of the Australian Imperial Force he was set to work building railways to transport English made ammunition from the coast across France to the Western Front and the closer they were to the Front, the riskier in became. When he came home in 1919, he took up being the driver/engineer on country trains (the isolation was very much appreciated) he created his own gig economy for the next 30 years - pick up a sheep when they stopped on the rail tracks, give to a butcher and distribute meat to all the other drivers at stations, and many others, the train was the internet of the time. This is a well researched book as to what the internet has done, good and bad, but there has been a gig ecomony since people opened bars along the Via Apia for the Roman legions heading to Gaul and Germania.

I’m a professor of labor and employment policy who studies the ‘gig economy’. Of all the books I have read on this topic, I would consider ‘Gigged’ among the very best. This book demonstrates that “gig” platforms are complex and span a variety of different types of work and working relationships. It is well written and researched, drawing on both individual stories and academic research. For anyone who is interested in learning more about how technology is changing the nature of work, I highly recommend this book.

Very informative-- explained how the platform of many tech-based companies work in a way that an even an old-fashioned luddite like myself could understand. Kessler does a beautiful job of simultaneously capturing the impact on individuals and the macro-level changes to our society at large. A surprisingly funny page-turner!

This book is so important for today . We can't blindly accept that all progress is good and the author does a great job understanding and exposing the implications of what type of world we are building.

#1,011,027 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

I read this aloud with my 8th graders (we had also read the previous book together)--they loved both books. The teenage characters still have lots of growing up to do and they do it the hard way here without any sexual scenes that can make it hard for a classroom teacher to present in class. Keep in mind that it's a long read, but by the time we reached the last two chapters, most of the kids were too emotionally involved to be able to read aloud, so I had to take on that task myself. Our dean of students walked in as we were reading on the last day and was mystified to see half a dozen kids sobbing openly while others had tears running down their faces. Don't let the tearful ending put you off, though; there's plenty of zombie attacks and bad guys to be overcome. Dust & Decay is far more introspective than its precursor, though, and my students are clamoring for book #3.

Unwilling heroes are probably my favorite characters. They don't want the fame and honor of being people's heroes, but people naturally trust them, look up to them, and expect to be led by them. Tom Imura is that kind of man. He is the bounty hunter who has kept the peace in the Rot and Ruin, even though he wasn't trying. His very presence made people behave and stopped the lawlessness. But when he packs up to leave, people get worried. Death and Decay is Jonathan Maberry's amazing portrayal of an unwilling hero and the people who would put their lives in his hands.Benny Imura used to resent his brother for abandoning their parents on the First Night, the night the dead began to walk again. When he found out his parents were actually infected and Tom saved him, it made him see Tom in a new light. Then when Tom saved his best friend, Nix, and put an end to Gameland- the place where evil men kidnap kids and have gladiator-esque fights between them and zombies- Benny knew Tom was a man to look up to. Now, after seeing a jet fly above them, Tom is determined to leave the Rot and Ruin to find the jet and secure a better life with his brother and their motley crew of friends.Despite training them, not all are ready to leave Sanctuary. Nix, after seeing her mother murdered by an evil bounty hunter and being thrown in Gameland, is ready to go. So is Lilah, the mythical Lost Girl who lived in the Rot and Ruin and turned out to not be such a myth after all. But Benny, Chong and Morgie aren't so sure. Morgie decides to stay home, and Chong's mother finally agrees to let him go as long as it is only for a few nights and he comes right back instead of going on the full journey. Unfortunately, she couldn't have known the trouble brewing in the Rot and Ruin. The trip is immediately off on the wrong foot as strange things start to happen. They come across some weird characters, a man who was executed by way of zombie, and the monk and sisters at their first stop are missing. When Chong disappears, Tom goes to find him and leaves Benny, Nix and Lilah to wait for them to return. What he couldn't have known was that things have gotten very dangerous out there and someone doesn't want them to make it out of town. When thousands of zombies overrun the building they are hiding in, Nix, Benny, Lilah barely make it out alive, but they are separated. Now everyone is trying to make it to the next stop- the old hotel and trading post- alive. What they don't know is there are lots of people out there looking for them- some to warn them and some to kill or kidnap them. Can they find each other without falling prey to the zombies... or worse? This was a phenomenal follow-up to the first book. I simply could not get enough of this story and stayed up way past my bedtime reading it. I absolutely love the characters, all of them. The good characters make you want to scream every time they are in danger and the bad characters make you want to find a sword and take them on yourself. The story is exciting and non-stop action. There are even some unexpected twists that I won't ruin for you, but I will hint that one involves a very surprising animal. The writing is appropriate for a wide range of ages with no sexual content or inappropriate language. There is a good deal of violence, as one would expect in any zombie story, but it isn't overdone and it isn't the focus of the story- the characters are. I have read Maberry's adult fiction as well, and he tends to follow the same rules- the characters are your biggest investment, not the gore. He wants you to love them or hate them, but either way, you are invested in their lives. The other stuff is just icing on the cake. So even though the premise is violent, the story isn't too much so. Bring the Rot and Ruin into your life and you will never be the same... even if it means you are now a zombie!

Six months have passed since the destruction of Gameland, the deaths of the Motor City Hammer and Charlie Pinkeye, and the jet sighting. Benny Imura, Lou Chong, and especially Nix Riley are still reeling from these events and have changed so much because of them. Benny, Nix, and Benny's brother Tom decide to leave town in search of the jet after months of grueling training led by Tom. They decide to leave their town in search of the plane and aren't planning to come back. So they, plus Lou Chong, set out into the Ruin where everything goes wrong. They are attacked by wild animals, zombies, and crazy people. Plus Charlie Pinkeye may still be alive. The group gets split apart and have to face danger on their own or die.I immensely enjoyed Rot and Ruin last year, but I was a little wary of its sequel because it could fall into the second book pitfall (where it just sets up for the next book) or just wouldn't be as good. Dust and Decay proved to be even better than Rot and Ruin. The character development and twists and turns are much better and more involved. Benny Imura grew out of being incredibly whiny and immature in the last book, but he still has a lot of growing to do. Dealing with the very harsh realities outside his town makes him realize what's important. Nix is much different. Her mother's death left her more somber and depressed than before and very eager to leave her home town forever. I really enjoyed her journal entries interspersed between chapters throughout the novel. They gave a lot of insight into her character and enlightened us about the science behind the zombies. Lilah has been one of the most consistently strong and stoic characters, but she breaks down and shows a softer side of herself. She has to come to terms with that fact that she can lose the people she cares about after not having anyone for so long. My favorite was the insight into Tom's character and how he did things to perpetuate love instead of hatred. He would examine his feelings to make sure he was in the right frame of mind and would give his all to protect those he loves and what is right.Dust and Decay covers a lot of new territory. The Ruin is much more wild and dangerous than Benny ever saw. It's home to wild animals (even a rhino!) and zombies as well as bounty hunters and some very unsavory people. Every time these characters think they are safe, something else dangerous comes up that they have to deal with. The action is practically nonstop. Many new characters are introduced. The new villain is incredibly creepy on many different levels. He makes my skin crawl. Many of the bounty hunters from Benny's trading cards are introduced as well. My favorite of them are J-Dog and Dr. Skillz, who are cheerful with their obsolete surfer dude slang and laid back attitudes despite seeing horrible things and living in the wild.Jonathan Maberry's strength is creating characters that I cared about and that were incredibly realistic. I could read about these characters all day and I found myself longing to read the book when I was busy. I am so happy Flesh and Bone comes out this month because I don't think I could have waited months for the next book.

Ji-li Jiang's THE RED SCARF GIRL is surprisingly one of the best books i have read this year. Since i found out that i have Chinese relatives from my mother's side (I am African American by the way), I have been much more interested in the Chinese culture. And ironically, i also found out that those Chinese relatives of mine lived through this chaotic time in China. I am far from truly knowing about these relatives (i don't even know what they look like), let alone do I know that much about the Chinese culture other than its history from the Shang Dynasty and Han Dynasty. But i feel that Ji-li Jang has revealed more about the Cultural Revolution than any history book on this subject, which very few people in the West know about. She also evinces such a moving narrative that's simple, and truly affective. People of all ages can understand the whole idea of the Cultural Revolution and the deaths and turmoil that happened upon innocent people, and innocent children. While reading this book, i felt as if i were in the author's shoes. I was nearly in tears as she battled upon the complications of truly wanting to be a Red Guard and take part in the revolution for Chairman Mao, and be against her family and denounce them as the enemy; or to be the enemy for simply doing the right thing. Esp. the scenes when her friends turned against her, of a relative of her friend killed herself, and of many other innocent people being humilated, and their privacy being infringed by the Red Guards, was truly haunting. I believe what makes this book so inspirational is how it doesn't only reflect one country, but all countries and people that lived in a time when power was manipulated, and people being brainwashed and losing their childhood and their past, and sometimes future, forever. I believe this book should be read in schools. It could be read in a social studies class, world history class, or an English class. I believe every student can get something out of this, such as a cultural awareness or historical awareness in this chapter of history, and to the last page get something out of it. This surely won't be the last time i will read this book. Highly recommend it.

This is NOT a book about the "big picture" of what happened in Communist China during the Cultural Revolution. Rather, it is a memoir of the lives of a young girl and her family and her friends' families. For the Chinese people, society's rules about what is good and bad were reversed, first when the Communists conquered China in 1949, and then the reversal was emphasized seventeen years later, when the Cultural Revolution began. The result was that families who, before Communism, had worked hard and intelligently and had prospered suddenly became national enemies. Even those who had chosen not to flee China, out of a strong sense of Chinese patriotism, like the author's parents and grandparents, were declared by the state to be "enemies of the people". Even worse, no way was allowed for such a family to "make up" for its past, and even the children who were born into Communism, like the author and her siblings and friends, were declared to be guilty of the "crimes" of their ancestors. For the author, the Cultural Revolution was a turning point in her life. Until then, her parents and grandmother had kept their heads down and been left alone, but now they were denounced and actively persecuted. What the author was seeing daily in her life conflicted with the propaganda she was getting at school, which, before, she had accepted without question. Now her confusion kept increasing, as she tried to make sense of her new world. Finally, she was told bluntly that she had to choose between her country and her family, and only if she publicly rejected her family could she have the life she had always expected to have. Of course this was an agonizing decision, and took much time, but she finally made her choice. The book is well-written, and does an excellent job of showing life in this tumultuous time as seen by a highly intelligent girl who was only twelve years old when the Cultural Revolution began. Being and Time: A Revised Edition of the Stambaugh Translation (SUNY series in Contemporary Continental Philosophy), by Martin Heidegger

Review

"Stambaugh's new version has large virtues, and improves on the only alternative ... [It] is best suited to beginning or general audiences ... These will find its spare and unobtrusive apparatus, which lets the text stand out more simply on its own and not bristling with flagged complications, a decisive virtue ... As a supplement or for comparison, or as a vehicle for reacquainting oneself with the work, it gives excellent service." --TLS"This new translation ... offers the text in a more precise and understandable English than earlier editions." -- Library Journal --Library Journal"Stambaugh's greatest merit as a translator is her ability to render the most difficult of Heidegger's prose ... into an English that remains both elegant and as faithful as possible to the original ... The bilingual glossary and index in the back are marvelously helpful ... Any translation of Sein und Zeit cannot help being a welcome contribution, even a significant landmark, within the world of Heidegger scholarship." --MLN

From the Back Cover

The publication in 1927 of Martin Heidegger's magnum opus signaled an intellectual event of the first order and had an impact in fields far beyond that of philosophy proper. Being and Time has long been recognized as a landmark work of the twentieth century for its original analyses of the character of philosophic inquiry and the relation of the possibility of such inquiry to the human situation. Still provocative and much disputed, Heidegger's text has been taken as the inspiration for a variety of innovative movements in fields ranging from psychoanalysis, literary theory, and existentialism to ethics, hermeneutics, and theology. A work that disturbs the traditions of philosophizing that it inherits, Being and Time raises questions about the end of philosophy and the possibilities for thinking liberated from the presumptions of metaphysics. The Stambaugh translation captures the vitality of the language and thinking animating Heidegger's original text. It is also the most comprehensive edition insofar as it includes the marginal notes made by Heidegger in his own copy of Being and Time, and takes into account the many changes that he made in the final German edition of 1976. The revisions to the original translation correct ambiguities and problems that have become apparent since the translation first appeared. Bracketed German words have also been liberally inserted both to clarify and highlight words and connections that are difficult to translate, and to link this translation more closely to the German text. This definitive edition will serve the needs of scholars well acquainted with Heidegger's work and of students approaching Heidegger for the first time.

#40,976 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

This is the single most important book for me for which I have ever read. The first time I read this book about a year ago it was a struggle and I only got the pieces of the story and didn't get the whole. Upon my second reading and after having dipped my toes into many other philosophy books, I now realized that Heidiegger is an incredibly good writer and he knows how to tell his story coherently. I am not a philosopher. Heidegger is not necessarily abstruse after a first reading.Dasein, the being (thing) that takes a stand on its own being is unlike any other being in the universe. That kind of being always has in its background a variation of the the three big questions along the lines about our design (where did I come from), purpose (what am I supposed to do) and reason (where does my purpose lie). All three questions presuppose the existence of a self as a human being (Dasein). Hence the question of the most interesting being of all, our own being.Heidegger starts the book with Hegel (consciousness is the 'indeterminate immediate') and ends the book with Hegel (time as now, but Heidegger is clearly not happy with that either). Hegel's 'Phenomenology of Mind (Spirit)' is my second favorite book and I read it (and his Logic) after I had read 'Being and Time' the first time. Hegel uses the abstract to explain the abstract and uses a dialectic (thesis, antithesis, synthesis) to bring it to reality (at least his version of reality).Heidegger does something different. He'll start with things but end with time as if he wanted to do that all along, but he ends the book murkily because he is not comfortable with time. Einstein takes time out of the universe (as Parmenides does) through his 'block universe'. Einstein's original sin (his words) was entwining the absolute speed of light with a physical clock (Bergson knows this and does get cited in this book and Einstein 'theory of relativity' gets cited in a footnote but mostly to explicitly ignore it). Heidegger wants to put becoming back into the world and does his best at trying.I want to get to the reason why I love this book so much. Dasein is thrown into the world and we lose our authentic selves because the "they", the idle chatter (gossip, Facebook), the entanglement, and the atunement (mood of the world) takes us away from our ownmost, nonrelational (never relating to death), and inseparable self. The self that allows us to understand most appropriately.Dasein is always in guilt from the anxiety and fear from the potential being ahead of death that we all have. The guilt can be thought of as the debt we always owe ourselves because we know that we will die (Camus' 'the absurd'). An analogy I came up with that would not have been possible in 1927 is that the debt we have is similar to the near violation of the conservation of matter that happens when a virtual particle is created in space. The particle is created and near simultaneously (but not quite at the exact time) an anti-particle is created and it is destroyed unless this happens on the horizon of a black hole. The particle that is originally created only exists in the emptiness of space as long as it knows that a debt must be paid leading to its own annihilation. Otherwise, the particle could not exist without violating a conservation law.It is our authentic existence that makes Dasein care (our conscience calls ourselves). The worldviews we have are a 'facon de parler' (convenient fiction). The book "Sapiens" gets this point. Heidegger states "that science has its origins in authentic existence", but "I will not show that in this book". He'll speak of history as a science to show that how we understand history is analogous to how we experience ourselves. Dilthey's 'generations' which is footnoted and I looked up to confirm that it meant the cohorts that we're put in with make us partly who we become, often less authentic.I usually detest (maybe loathe is a better word) self help books ("The Purpose Driven Life" is probably the single worst book I've ever read). I've never have seen a better self help book than this book. Our purpose for life lies within understanding our own understand of being in the world and understanding the variation to the three big questions. This book has that and also provides insights and justifications into why I think the way I do. I just love his insult at people who say "I don't have the time", they, according to him (and me) are inauthentic irresolute' because the person who understands will have 'anticipatory resoluteness' and always make time appropriately.Appropriately is how we must lead our ownmost being. Our ethical, moral, and ontological (in a way, philosophical) views come from our understanding, discourse, attunement and entanglement with being in the world and is up to us to grab onto our authentic selves. As Heidegger says, 'speaking a lot about something does not in the least guarantee that understanding is thus furthered". So therefore, I'll stop writing about why I love this book so much.

I've given this a 5-star rating for two reasons:First, Being and Time is an important work, not only for understanding 20th century philosophy, but for understanding what it means to be human. Everyone ought to read this book, not just those interested in philosophy.Second, Stambaugh's translation, while not perfect, makes this work much more accessible than previous translations.

I am Germanless, but in comparing this translation to MacQuarrie and Robinson I find 1)Stambaugh is easier to read with a free flow in her English which however at times leads to indefinieness; 2) Stambaugh will sometimes come to a more definite and clearer conclusion than M&R, but then sometimes the reverse; 3) Stambaugh has an excellent index organized much like M&R's with a few headings M&R does not have BUT it has NO German index as M&R has; 4) Stambaugh has the later marginal comments Heidegger made that M&R does not. However, sometimes M&R has a formulation that seems more precise and more like Heidegger than Stambaugh. M&R also has footnotes on the translation that are sometimes crucial to understanding what is going on in the main text. And it English index has a few headings not found in Stambaugh as well as having a German word index. Having BOTH translations, and being able to compare them, can be an emense help in understanding Heidegger.

Certainly, there is substantial variation in motivation of readers to read Being and Time (1927) by Martin Heidegger. This variation can range from the lowly motivated, "Guess it might be nice to understand Heidegger,"to the highly motivated, "I must understand Heidegger, at all cost." Readers can also vary in their expertise in philosophy from those who are general readers to graduate students and professors of philosophy. I count myself among the latter spectrum, i.e., the highly motivated, although I'm not a professor of philosophy nor was I a graduate student in philosophy.Insofar as one is sufficiently primed to read Being and Time, this translation by Joan Stambaugh and Dennis J. Schmidt makes Heidegger especially accessible. My first attempt to read Being and Time ended in frustration and failure. So I obtained several seemingly more comprehensible books: "Introduction to Metaphysics," by Martin Heidegger (English version, 2000, Yale University Press); "Being-in-the-World," by Hubert L. Dreyfus (1991, MIT Press); and "Heidegger Explained," by Graham Harman (2007, Carus Publishing, Open Court). After studying the books mentioned above I obtained Being and Time in the current translation (Stambaugh/Schmidt). What a difference! Compared to my first attempt reading Being and Time the second time proceeded more smoothly and with greater comprehension. Preparing myself by reading the preparatory works mention above was well worth the effort. Being and Time is now highly accessible to this highly motivated reader.Whether one studies texts supplementary to Being and Time I suggest one method of reading Heidegger's treatise: simply plod along as best as one can. The temptation - at least for me - was to meditate on small bites of text trying to digest their meaning perfectly. This is a bad strategy in my opinion. Using this method, finishing Being and Time could take months. Instead simply move along at a slow but steady pace without worrying about perfect comprehension. This is because Heidegger repeats the major themes in Being and Time throughout the entire book. Perhaps think of reading Being and Time as climbing a steep, treacherous mountain. The highly motivated hiker encounters all sorts of difficulties along the way but keeps moving forward towards the summit.I recommend highly this translation of Being and Time.

S&Z gets 5 stars always, but I am giving 5 stars for the translation.

A very well prepared edition of Martin Heidegger's Being and Time, I strongly recommend this version. SUNY press is a great publisher.

I wish I could give more ... the Savages are the most complex family I’ve ever read about. K’wan is a genius, first you love the characters , then hate them, then you learn there is a hidden depth to every character he writes about and then you realize and everything is not black and white. K’wan makes you read until your looking for more pages... I can’t wait for the continuation of this story.......Thank you K’wan

This book was good from beginning to end, its was good to see a sprinkle of some old characters. That damn Ma Savage ain't no joke!! Can't wait to see what happens in the City now that Mad Dog is in the loose

I was so excited to read this. I'm a huge fan, and have read all Kwan's books. This one had me reading nonstop I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read what's next.

I have never felt anything for the Savages in any of their little glimpses in previous books. But Mr. Foye changed all that with Lawless. This book really introduced them now I'm hooked. I think Mad Dog is going to be my guy.

Man its been too long since we had some heat from Kwan and I can say 1st hand he didnt fail to deliver. Dope ass story line dope ass characters. Anyone reading this will not be disappointed. Cant wait to see how all this turns out.

This book was nothing short of amazing! What I love most about this book(like many others) the characters in this book intertwines with characters from K'wans previous books. The emotions was there it was attention grabbing I love Keith's gangsta/gentlemen ways and i read it all in one day. Surely cant wait for part two

Excellent book. Will keep you guessing what is happening with the Savage Fa!ily. Hope the author releases book 2 estate soon.

This man is a GENIUS with his stories. Great character development for everyone who matters and those who don't. EVERY book you come across someone mentioned in a previous book and then you're caught up trying to remember what book and what role they played so you end up going back to read it again and BAM! Hooked all over again lol. I need the next story already! #TeamAnimal
